The hacking jacket is one of the most distinctive of classic British jackets and, with its nipped-waist and flared skirt, it is also one of the most flattering. The style was originally made for horse riding but became popular for casual wear from the 1930s when the equestrian look was adopted by British men of all classes. Made from hard-wearing cavalry twill, this early example of a jacket made by the British brand Hackett, a company that revived traditional British tailoring in the 1980s. This is a high-quality garment that comes complete with functioning cuffs.
