Mid-20th Century British four-pocket waistcoat made from knitted wool. The fashion for contrasting waistcoats, which was popular in Victorian & Edwardian tailoring, and was regularly seen in equestrian tailoring throughout the 20th century, entered mainstream fashion in post-war Britain and added a splash of colour to menswear for many years. The knitted-front waistcoat became popular as its flexibility allowed for freedom and comfort without compromising style. This waistcoat is the perfect way to add colour and vintage detail to a plain suit. This waistcoat was made by Dunn & Co, who were one of last bastions of traditional British menswear.
Size: 40 (measures 20.5 inches pit-to-pit)
Condition: Moderate (it has some moth nips and a stain on the front and is missing the two lower buttons)
