Made to Measure Tailoring
This exclusive service allows you to craft your period-correct suit using vintage pattern grading systems and the finest British fabrics. It is the original vintage Made to Measure service that specialises in authentic tailoring from the 1920s to the 1960s, offering a truly unique experience for those who appreciate heritage style.
Classic Tailoring
This service allows you to craft your period-correct suit using vintage pattern grading systems and the finest British fabrics. From the number of buttonholes to the selection and placement of buttons, from pocket styles to waistband features, and to a plethora of further customisable options, you hold complete dominion over every aspect of your suit. Delve into a world of limitless possibilities, exploring thousands of combinations to create the ideal suit, tailored precisely to your exact measurements and unique style. Whether you're after a 1936 dinner jacket or a post-war lounge suit, every commission channels timeless elegance with quiet confidence.
Custom Craftsmanship
Unlike most Made to Measure services limited by factory templates, Cathcart’s tailors work from authentic period suit blocks and an expansive library of vintage patterns and details. From fishmouth lapels to triple-pleated backs, no feature is too obscure or difficult to create. Each garment is cut, crafted, and finessed by expert tailors, built precisely to reflect your vision — not a preset menu.
Premium Cloth
We weave our own cloth and partner directly with Britain’s finest mills to offer unique, historically accurate fabrics in a range of weights, textures, and tones. No polyester. No shortcuts. Whether you want a bold tweed, a fluid gabardine, or a crisp linen, you’re selecting from materials curated for their beauty, durability, and period-correct character.
Perfect Fit
The fit of a Cathcart suit is unmistakable — shaped, structured, and refined without fuss. Your measurements are paired with decade-specific blocks to produce a silhouette as close to a true vintage garment as possible, but tailored precisely for your body. It's not just about accuracy, it's about achieving presence through subtlety — a suit that feels as good as it looks.
