Established in 1875, and in the same location since 1924, the London department store Liberty is famous for its incredible range of bold fabrics, especially floral prints, and especially its connection with the artist William Morris who designs helped establish the shop’s reputation. Liberty remains world-renowned for its historic 50,000-strong print archive, and for continuing the tradition with its in-house studio where new artworks are still created, with its incredible range of prints regularly used to create beautiful silk ties. The red tie and the grey/yellow paisley tie are both from Liberty’s ‘Solid Gold’ range from the 1960s/1970s.
