British mid-20th century unstructured summer jacket (probably late 1950s/early 1960s) made by Steegan from pure Irish linen from Moygashel, a company famous for its Irish linens. This example has high quality lining and is made from a medium weight slubby linen fabric. These jackets were a perpetual favourite for British men in the 20th century, routinely being worn in the summer in the place of a suit jacket. The style of these jackets remained almost the same for many years, meaning this jacket can be worn to replicate the styles of the 1920s through to the 1960s.

Size: Jacket marked size 46R – Chest (measured pit to pit) = 24.5 inches/Shoulders = 21 inches/Sleeve = 25 inches/Length = 30 inches.

Condition: Fair/Good (The sleeve openings have had some wear and have been professionally mended with a leather binding. There is also some wear to the inner collar which can be easily repaired and will not be visible when worn – see photos)

Condition of Cathcart samples are unworn unless stated otherwise above. For vintage items please read product description.
