Here’s a rare chance to buy a 1930s peak-lapel, single breasted, British Dinner Suit that comes complete with its original waistcoat. This is one of the most popular styles of British dinner suit and it is a style that is increasingly difficult to find, especially in good condition from the pre-war period. Please note, the jacket and waistcoat are original to the suit, however the trousers are from the 1950s, having been chosen to complete the suit as they are a good match for the weight of cloth and the colour. N.B. The suit is quite tight fitting at the shoulders and upper arms and may be better suited to someone with a slimmer build.
Size approx. 36/38: Chest (measured pit to pit) = 20 inches/Shoulders = 16.5 inches/Sleeves = 24inches/Length = 28 inches/Waist (across fastening) = 18.5 inches. Waistcoat: Pit-to-pit = 20/Across Fastening = 18 inches/Length (side neck point to lowest point)= 23 inches. Trousers: Waist = 34 inches/Front Rise = 13.5 inches/Rear Rise = 19 inches/Inside Leg = 29.5 inches (+1.5 inches to let down)/Hem = 9 inches.
