In the post-war period, as car ownership increased, there was a fashion for shorter overcoats that allowed drivers greater freedom of movement as they were driving. With its narrow wrap, close fitting chest, and a flap on the breast pocket, this coat appears to date from the mid-to-late 1960s (a period in which men’s tailoring was inspired by the 1920s).

Condition: Good (N.B. there is a hole on the right shoulder seam that is easily repairable – see photos)
